Class Media Group Decries Assault On Journalist

The Class Media Group has condemned the assault on one of its journalists by personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service, describing the incident as a threat to press freedom and the safety of journalists.

In a statement, The CEO Alhaji Seidu Agongo, on behalf of the media group, urged the relevant authorities to conduct a swift and impartial investigation to establish the facts and ensure accountability.

“The assault on our journalist is not only an attack on press freedom but also undermines Ghana’s credibility and standing as a champion of media rights,” the statement said.

The journalist was performing his lawful duties at the time of the incident, and the Class Media Group is calling for full cooperation from all parties to safeguard media practitioners.

The media group remains committed to promoting responsible journalism and has called for calm as the matter is addressed.
