E-Sefah Foundation Donates Consumable Items to 110 Widows and Widowers at Akyem Tumfa

Boxing Day in the Atiwa West District was marked by a remarkable act of compassion as the E-Sefah Foundation extended support to some of the most vulnerable in society. On Friday, December 26, 2025, the foundation donated essential consumable items to 110 widows and widowers at Akyem Tumfa in the Eastern Region, ensuring they were not left out of the festive celebrations.

The event brought smiles and renewed hope to the beneficiaries, many of whom have been struggling due to the rising cost of living. As families across the country celebrated the holidays, these widows and widowers gathered at Akyem Tumfa to receive much-needed assistance.

The donated items included bags of rice, cooking oil, canned fish and other assorted provisions — basic necessities aimed at easing their economic burden during the festive period.

The CEO of the Foundation, Corporal Eugene Sefah, personally led the distribution exercise. He said the foundation’s mission is driven by compassion and a commitment to ensuring that the less privileged do not feel abandoned, especially during festive seasons.

“We have been doing this for a long time because we believe in supporting the less privileged. Today, we are here at Akyem Tumfa to show love to our mothers and fathers. We pray for more strength so we can reach even more people in the coming years,” he said.

For many of the beneficiaries, the donation meant more than just food — it was a gesture of care and reassurance. They expressed deep gratitude to the E-Sefah Foundation for remembering them at a time when economic challenges continue to affect households nationwide.

The E-Sefah Foundation has over the years been involved in several humanitarian interventions aimed at improving the welfare of vulnerable groups, particularly widows, orphans and the elderly.

The latest donation has once again earned the foundation commendation from community members, who praised the organisation for its consistent commitment to touching lives and restoring hope.
