Don’t use $3x to punish (mafia) your partner, it’s a glue and should be used to reconcile – marriage counselor, Collins Bonsu

Counselor Collins Bonsu has cautioned couples against using sex as a weapon in their relationships, describing it instead as a powerful bond meant to strengthen and restore unity.
Speaking with Sofo Kankam on Kessben FM, Counsellor Bonsu said deliberately withholding intimacy to punish a partner can deepen conflict, create emotional distance, and weaken trust within a relationship. He explained that intimacy is meant to foster closeness, understanding, and reassurance, especially during moments of tension or misunderstanding.
He encouraged couples to view intimacy as a tool for reconciliation rather than control. When used with mutual respect and communication, he said, it can help partners reconnect emotionally and resolve conflicts more peacefully.
Counselor Bonsu also stressed the importance of open dialogue, forgiveness, and emotional maturity in relationships. He advised couples to address issues directly instead of resorting to silent treatments or emotional punishment.
