Responsible Cooperative Mining Program Gains Momentum in Ahanta West

The Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skills Development Program (RCOMSDEP) has made significant progress in its mission to promote sustainable mining practices in Ghana. On Day Two of the program, a team led by the Deputy National Coordinator in charge of Operations visited mining sites in the Ahanta West Constituency to assess the viability of cooperative mining.
The communities welcomed the initiative with enthusiasm, joining the team in visiting various sites. The warm reception was attributed to the support of the Member of Parliament (MP) and the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), who provided hospitality and facilitated the visit.
RCOMSDEP Director of Communications Mr John Afful expressed gratitude to the MP and MCE for their support, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts in promoting responsible mining practices. The program aims to improve the lives of miners and contribute to Ghana’s economic development.
The team’s visit is part of efforts to establish a Responsible Cooperative Mining initiative in the region, focusing on sustainable mining and skills development. The program has garnered interest from local communities, who see it as an opportunity to improve their livelihoods.
