President Mahama Attends First National Bank Head of State Invitational Golf Tournament
President John Dramani Mahama graced the 4th First National Bank Head of State Invitational Golf Tournament at the Achimota Golf Club in Accra on Friday, December 5, 2025. The event, themed “Giving Back to the Community Through Golf,” brought together over 140 amateur golfers from across Ghana.
In his address, President Mahama expressed enthusiasm for possibly taking up golf, saying he regretted not starting earlier. He also assured that the Celebrity Golf Club land issue would be given priority attention, following appeals from Minister Adams and Achimota Golf Club President Frank Adu Jnr.
The tournament saw fierce competition across four divisions, with winners emerging in each category. John Ayayee won the Men’s Group A division with 44 points, while Esukis Esukise Martin topped the Men’s Group B division with 46 points. Flora Hurtubisae and Marlene Tonyigah won the Ladies Group A and B divisions, respectively.
The event was organized by Northwestern Solutions in partnership with the Ghana Golf Association, with First National Bank (FNB) as headline sponsor.
