NSA Appeals to Corporates: Help Elevate Proactive Sports Federations in Ghana

The Director-General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Mr. Yaw Ampofo-Ankrah, has made a passionate appeal to corporate organisations to invest in dynamic and goal-oriented sports federations, highlighting Ghana Rugby as a prime example of how visionary leadership can elevate a sport to new heights.

Speaking moments after a thrilling match between the Ghana Rugby Football Union’s Eagles and Nigeria’s Black Stallions at the University of Ghana Rugby Stadium, Mr. Ampofo-Ankrah praised the significant progress rugby has made under the stewardship of the Ghana Rugby Football Union.

“I am truly delighted and proud of the way the Ghana Rugby Football Union leadership has elevated the sport over the last few years,” he stated.

“With just a bit more support, Ghana Rugby has the potential to rank among the top three or five teams in Africa.”

He called on businesses to back federations demonstrating strong commitment and results, stressing that even modest investment can make a huge difference.

“These federations are already doing very well with limited resources; with extra support, they can achieve so much more.”

This call for corporate involvement underscores the critical role that partnerships with private sector leaders like Enterprise Life play in advancing sports development.

Such collaborations not only enhance the capabilities of sports federations but also help foster national pride by nurturing talent and driving competitive success on the continent’s biggest stages.
