Ghana’s Foreign Minister Engages Ghanaian Community in Angola

Ghana’s Foreign Minister, Hon. Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa, recently met with the Ghanaian community on the sidelines of the African Union – European Union (AU-EU) summit in Luanda, Angola, which also marks the country’s 50th independence anniversary. During the meeting, he highlighted Ghana’s rich history and legacy, expressing pride in the country’s contributions to Angola’s peace and security architecture.

Minister Ablakwa invited Ghanaians living in Angola to attend the upcoming Diaspora Summit on December 19th and 20th, featuring the launch of a diaspora bond. The bond aims to provide a defined medium of investment for Ghanaians abroad, with President Mahama outlining details and security measures.

The Minister praised the Ghanaian community in Angola for maintaining a good image and upholding Ghana’s traditions, highlighting iconic leaders like Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and Kofi Annan, honored by Angola during its 50th anniversary.

“We are a promise-fulfilling government, and we want to thank you for your impressive track record. We are working in very proud shoes, and we should always be proud of that history, that legacy that Ghana has,” Minister Ablakwa said.

The visit underscores Ghana’s commitment to engaging its diaspora community and fostering development through investment and collaboration.
