Eleven Wonders players go three days without food – Coach JE Sarpong

Former Eleven Wonders head coach Josef Emmanuel Sarpong has revealed the reasons behind his sudden exit from Eleven Wonders, less than a month after being appointed.
Sarpong, who has previously managed Great Olympics and Ebusua Dwarfs, was hired to replace Nii Odartey Lamptey following the team’s poor start to the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
However, after three matches without a win, he chose to step down, prompting widespread speculation.
Coach Sarpong explained that he quickly uncovered systemic problems within the club that made his position unsustainable.
“I was contacted to help fix the situation, but upon arrival, I realised that so many things were wrong within the club,” he said.
“Personally, I did not want a situation where it would be said that I was the one in charge when the team got relegated from the Premier League, so I had to make a decision to leave. Players are not paid well and are not fed well. Sometimes, the players can go three days without eating. They have a poor transportation plan. The players are sometimes forced to use public transport, ‘trotro’, which is not good for the players. ”
He hinted that some of these challenges may have been hidden before his arrival.
