Spokesperson of Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, Mahmud Kabore extends condolences to the families of NAIMOS victims after the Obuasi Road tragedy

Following the tragic accident on Obuasi Road, Mahmud Kabore, spokesperson for the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, expressed profound sympathy to the families of the National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS) personnel involved.
The crash, which occurred on 19 November 2025, claimed the life of one officer and left four others seriously injured.
Appearing on Kessben TV, Kabore described the loss as a painful reminder of the dangers faced by frontline officers in Ghana’s anti-galamsey efforts. He extended his deepest condolences to the bereaved family and wished speedy recovery to those injured.
The Ministry has confirmed that the NAIMOS team was returning from a major anti-illegal mining operation in the Obuasi enclave when their vehicle crashed. According to reports, the vehicle reportedly somersaulted near the Obuasi Airport area.
In a separate development, Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, led a delegation to the NAIMOS headquarters to sign a Book of Condolence in honour of Private Sarfo Agyapong Collins, the officer who lost his life. The Minister praised Collins as a committed patriot whose sacrifice will not be forgotten, and conveyed President John Mahama’s sympathies to the family and the entire NAIMOS team.
Kabore reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting the families of the fallen and injured and promised that a full investigation into the crash is underway. He urged the public to stand in solidarity with the affected personnel and highlighted the importance of safeguarding the welfare of those leading the fight against illegal mining.
