“The Black Star Will Rise”: Ghana’s New Envoys Promise Results-Driven Diplomacy — Mona Quartey Leads Call

Newly commissioned ambassadors, high commissioners, and envoys have reaffirmed their commitment to advancing Ghana’s interests abroad, with Ambassador-designate to the Italian Republic, Mrs. Mona Helen Kabuki Quartey, delivering a strong message of gratitude, duty, and renewed purpose.
Speaking on behalf of the newly appointed envoys, during the commissioning ceremony held at Jubilee House on Wednesday 19th November, 2025, Mrs. Quartey expressed profound appreciation to the President for the trust reposed in them, noting that their mandate aligns with the government’s reset agenda aimed at stimulating robust economic growth.
“We the newly commissioned ambassadors, high commissioners and envoys stand in awe of the goodness of our Almighty Creator for the resounding victory and successes chalked this year 2025 by the NDC government on behalf of Ghanaians,” she said. “Mr. President, we thank you for your leadership and confidence in appointing us to represent you and our beloved motherland to the rest of the world.”

Mrs. Quartey highlighted the weight of the responsibility ahead, emphasizing the envoys’ readiness to deliver tangible outcomes that support Ghana’s economic transformation.
“The import of our task is not lost on us, and we are ready to arrive at our posts and deliver on the mandate of the reset agenda, which is to grow the economy of Ghana into the prosperous country that we all desire,” she stated.
She commended the President and Vice President for launching the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) Framework that will guide the envoys’ work.
“This has given us clarity and confidence in working towards the vision and expected goals,” she said.
Mrs. Quartey echoed the President’s charge to the envoys to adopt a proactive approach to economic diplomacy.
“Your expectation of us, Mr. President, is to be proactive architects of our economic diplomacy, relentlessly seeking out and facilitating trade and investment opportunities for Ghana in an increasingly interconnected world.”

She emphasized that the evolving global landscape requires envoys to be innovative and solutions-driven.
“Challenges of globalization require well-thought-through and executable solutions between states and multilateral institutions,” she noted, referencing Saturn’s Diplomatic Practice as a guiding text for today’s diplomatic environment.
With growing public demand for efficient consular services, Mrs. Quartey stressed the need for digital transformation within Ghana’s missions abroad.
“It will indeed be one of our KPIs to utilize technology to gain strides, creating access to the virtual world,” she said, acknowledging the rise of social-media-driven public feedback that increasingly influences service standards.
Mrs. Quartey reaffirmed the envoys’ commitment to advancing Ghana’s image and seizing emerging global economic opportunities.
“We are honored to be part of your winning team, and we assure you of our dedication and commitment to land concrete deliverables during a time when the world economy is charting unknown territories,” she remarked.
She added that new socioeconomic tailwinds across Africa present a timely opportunity for Ghana to rise.
“Mr. President, the Black Star will rise and shine.”
