Chito Excellence Award 2025: Kwame Opoku Sarkodie Supports STEM Education With 90 Laptops for Brilliant Students

In a decisive move to strengthen Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education in Ghana, a US based Ghanaian Mr Kwame Opoku Sarkodie commonly known as Chito has donated a set of ninety (90) brand-new laptops to brilliant Students at various Senior High Schools in Ghana aimed at enhancing digital literacy, support research, and prepare students for technology-driven exams and future career paths.
Kumasi Anglican School
A wave of excitement swept through Kumasi Anglican Senior School on Thursday November 13, 2025, when Fifty-six brilliant have received laptops as part of the CHITO 2025 Academic Excellence Awards.
Mr. Kwame Opoku Sarkodie, a distinguished Alumnus of the school from 1978 to 1983, donated the laptops in support of his alma mater to motivate students who excel academically.




According to him, the initiative was supported by his friends in the United States of America (USA) to express his love for the Anglican Senior High School (KASHS) and to also express his gratitude to the school for moulding his life.
Speaking to the media after presenting the awards to the brilliant students in Kumasi Anglican, Mr Opoku Sarkodie, noted that the gesture is meant to bridge the digital divide that often hinders students in rural and peri-urban areas from competing effectively with their peers elsewhere.
Chito as affectionately called underlined that the laptops are expected to support the students in coursework such as coding, digital design, mathematics simulations, and online research.
The headmistress of the school, Madam Rebbeca Tetteh expressed deep appreciation, describing the gesture as timely and transformational.
Chairman for the Occasion Lawyer Stephen Boateng for his side also commended, Mr Opoku Sarkodie and his associates abroad for their annual contribution to not only Kumasi Anglican School but Ghana education as a whole.



NATIONAL SCIENCE AND MATHS QUIZ
Before his donation at Kumasi Angelica Mr Opoku Sarkodie supported the best performing students in the just-ended 2025 National Science and Maths Quiz at the grand final in the University of Cape Coast where the quiz was held.
At the National Science and Maths Quiz, the 18 best-performing students received the award for the six most impressive schools.
The schools were Opoku Ware School, Amaniapong SHS, and ST. Augustine’s College.
The rest are Aburi Girls’, Mfantsipim School, and Mankraso SHS.
EGYAA NO.1 QUIZ COMPETITION
In other related development, Mr Kwame Opoku Sarkoddie as part of this year’s CHITO Excellence Award, empowered ten (10) Junior High students at Egyaa No.1 community with 10 brand new laptops to improve their academics.
The donation was made at the Egyaa Quiz Competition on October, 28, 2025 as part of the Egyaa Okyir festival.
