JUST IN: Ashanti Democrats to sue Wendell Yeboah & management of Aluta FM for defamation of Ashanti regional minister over galamsey claims
The political group Ashanti Democrats has announced its intention to sue Wendell Yeboah and the management of Aluta 92.1 FM, over what they describe as defamatory comments.
Wendell Yeboah, during a live broadcast on Aluta FM, accused Dr. Amoakohene of being involved in illegal mining (galamsey). These statements have sparked strong backlash.
In response, the minister has firmly denied the allegations, calling them “false, unfounded, and intended to misinform the public.”
This case highlights the risks associated with making serious public accusations without verification.
If the Ashanti Democrats go ahead with their lawsuit, it could reinforce the importance of media accountability in Ghana, especially for statements made on live radio platforms.
