Ashanti Regional Minister urged to empower the Sua Nyansa Movement

Listeners of Kessben FM are calling on the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Amoakohene, to offer support and empowerment to the Sua Nyansa Movement, a group of young men passionate about ensuring fairness and order in Kumasi’s public transport system. The appeals came after the group appeared on the Kessben Drive with Fante Quoo, where they discussed their mission and the challenges they face.
The Sua Nyansa Movement has gained recognition for boldly confronting what many commuters describe as greedy trotro drivers and mates who overcharge passengers beyond the approved fares.
The group has taken it upon themselves to monitor transport stations, educate passengers, and insist on compliance with official fare structures to protect the public from exploitation.
During their interview, several callers phoned into the show to commend the group’s dedication and bravery. Many urged the Regional Minister to formally empower and resource the young men so they can expand their operations and maintain sanity across the transport system in Kumasi.
The growing public support demonstrates the community’s desire for accountability and fairness within the transport sector.
With proper backing, the Sua Nyansa Movement could play an even stronger role in promoting discipline, protecting passengers, and ensuring that approved fares are respected citywide.
