The incident has sparked widespread condemnation and calls for urgent action to address youth unemployment.

In a statement, PAG’s 2024 presidential candidate, Dr. John Kpikpi, expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and emphasized that the tragedy highlights the growing frustration among thousands of unemployed young Ghanaians.

The incident, which occurred on November 12, 2025, has left five individuals receiving intensive care and twelve others in critical condition. President John Dramani Mahama has suspended the recruitment exercise and directed an investigation into the incident.
