The Church should do more to help the country, the people believe in the men of God than us, the politicians – Kennedy Agyapong

Businessman and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer aspirant, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, has called on churches and religious leaders in Ghana to play a greater role in national development.

Speaking at a recent event, the outspoken politician emphasized that the church wields significant influence over the Ghanaian population and can use that power to promote discipline, hard work, and patriotism among citizens.

“The people believe in the men of God more than us, the politicians. That’s why the church should do more to help the country,” Kennedy Agyapong said.

He explained that while politicians are often criticized for the country’s challenges, the moral and social guidance provided by religious institutions is equally vital in shaping national character and progress.

According to him, if churches focused more on empowering their members economically and morally, Ghana would experience faster development and reduced dependency on government interventions.

Kennedy Agyapong urged religious leaders to go beyond preaching prosperity and instead champion honesty, integrity, and hard work, values he believes are essential for building a strong and prosperous nation.
