Stop Demonizing Atiwa East MP for Protecting the Public Purse – Former Bono East Youth Wing Administrator to A Plus

Let’s be honest Kwame Asare Obeng’s recent outburst against Hon. Abena Osei Asare is a desperate and transparent attempt to tarnish the image of a woman who has earned her place through hard work, integrity, and competence.
It’s almost comical that someone with such a controversial past now seeks to position himself as the voice of morality and accountability. Kwame, where was your moral outrage when you openly defended Dr. Sledge, your close associate, in the face of serious questions about his business dealings? You downplayed public concerns, labeling them as politically motivated and rooted in envy. That was hypocrisy at its peak and Ghanaians took note.
We also remember your conflict with the Attorney General, where you chose confrontation over reason simply because the legal process didn’t favor your position. You’ve never stood on principle consistently you promote accountability only when it serves your personal or political interests.
Your current attack on Hon. Abena Osei Asare is therefore not inspired by any love for Ghana or truth; it is fueled by political resentment and insecurity. You can’t handle the fact that a composed, principled woman now holds others to account and does so effectively. Her calm confidence exposes the weakness in your noise-driven politics.
Hon. Abena Osei Asare has always conducted herself with dignity and professionalism. As Deputy Minister for Finance, she worked tirelessly under pressure, and now as Chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee, she is fulfilling her constitutional mandate without fear or bias.
These sudden, coordinated attacks are clearly part of a calculated effort to undermine her credibility and distract Ghanaians from real governance issues. But the public is discerning they can see through the propaganda.
Hon. Abena Osei Asare stands as a model of integrity in public life. Those who failed to uphold basic principles when they held power now want to lecture her on accountability? The irony is hard to miss.
So, Kwame, before you talk about “moral authority,” take a good look at your own record. You defended your friends when they were under scrutiny, you attacked the justice system when it demanded answers, and now you want to pose as a saint? Please, spare us.
The truth remains: Hon. Abena Osei Asare is doing her job and doing it with excellence. No amount of politically motivated noise will erase her record of service and dedication to Ghana.
