Atwima Denkyenmoase residents hit the streets to protest over deplorable roads

Residents of Atwima Denkyenmoase in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region have taken to the streets to protest against the poor state of their roads, particularly the stretch that leads to Foase.

The road, which has remained untarred for many years, has become a major source of frustration and hardship for the community.

According to the angry residents who spoke with Kessben FM’s Ernest Appau Agyanuro, the road becomes extremely dusty during the dry season, posing serious health risks such as respiratory problems and eye irritation. During the rainy season, the situation worsens as the entire stretch turns muddy and slippery, making movement difficult for vehicles and pedestrians alike.

Some demonstrators lamented that despite several appeals to authorities and promises made by politicians over the years, nothing has been done to improve the condition of the road.

“This road has been neglected for too long. When it rains, we can’t even go to work or send our children to school. And during the dry season, the dust is killing us,” Nana, who spoke with Agyanuro said on Kessben FM

The residents have called on the government and the Ministry of Roads and Highways to immediately intervene and fix the Foase road, stressing that the current state of the road is affecting businesses, education, and healthcare delivery in the area.
