Our Journey Together: Dr. Bawumia Confident of 90% Support in Tano North

New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has expressed confidence that the people of Tano North will once again deliver overwhelming support for his candidature in the 2026 presidential primaries, projecting a 90 percent endorsement.
Speaking during his first day of campaign in the Ahafo Region, where he also toured the Tano South and Asutifi North constituencies, Dr. Bawumia thanked delegates for their strong backing in the previous contest and reaffirmed his deep connection with the constituency.
“I am excited today. I know I’m always welcomed in Tano North. I want to express my appreciation for the support in 2023. I garnered 84% of the votes. In the same vein, I urge you to replicate the support in 2026. This time round, I know that the support will be 90%. A win for me is a win for Tano North,” Dr. Bawumia declared to loud cheers from delegates.
The Former Vice President’s renewed call for support aligns with his consistent campaign message across the country — one anchored on continuity, inclusiveness, and innovation.
Dr. Bawumia has repeatedly emphasized that his vision for Ghana’s future lies in deepening the role of the private sector in national development. During earlier engagements, he noted that private sector participation is “critical to bridging the road infrastructure deficit,” pledging to involve private investment in major projects while government focuses on connecting communities through feeder and inter-town roads.
He has also assured the grassroots of greater inclusion in governance, stating that he intends to empower local communities and ensure that their needs directly inform national policy.
Dr. Bawumia has presented himself as a unifier — a message he has reiterated since the NPP’s 2023 presidential primaries. He has pledged to bring all factions within the party together, saying unity remains essential for a resounding victory in the 2028 general elections.
The Ahafo Region tour marks the third region of Dr. Bawumia’s nationwide campaign to consolidate grassroots support to lead the NPP for the 2028 election.
