Even if we bring Obama as our Flagbearer without strength in our party, we will lose the 2028 elections – Eugene Boakye Antwi
Former Member of Parliament for Subin and aspiring General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Eugene Boakye Antwi, has cautioned that the NPP’s success in the 2028 general elections will depend on the collective strength of the party, not on any single individual or flagbearer.
Speaking in an interview on Kessben FM KOD, Boakye Antwi stressed that unity, structure, and internal discipline will determine the NPP’s electoral fortunes. He warned that without a strong and cohesive party foundation, even the most popular candidate would not be able to secure victory.
“It is the party that loses elections, not individuals,” he said. “If there is no strength in our party, we will lose 2028, even if we bring Barack Obama as NPP’s flagbearer.”
Boakye Antwi, who is vying for the position of General Secretary, said his focus is to restore the NPP’s internal structures and energize its base across all levels. He argued that the party’s ability to reconnect with its members and reestablish trust among voters will be critical to regaining power in 2028.
“We need to go back to the basics, rebuild our organization, restore faith among our members, and speak with one voice,” he emphasized.
