Girls Urged to Prioritise Education for Brighter Future

The Director for Policy, Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (PPME) at the National Service Authority (NSA), Dr Mrs Elizabeth L. B. Zotorvie, has urged young girls across the country to take their academic work seriously, stressing that education remains the surest path to empowerment, self-reliance, and a brighter future.
Dr Zotorvie made the call today during a joint monitoring exercise by the National Service Authority (NSA) and CAMFED Ghana on the Learner Guide Programme at Marakaz E/A Junior High School, Walewale Girls’ Model Junior High School, Tinguri R/C JHS, and Guabuliga R/C Junior High School, in the Walewale Municipality of the Northern Region.
Success
Addressing a gathering of enthusiastic learners, Dr Zotorvie opined that education is a means to personal success and a tool for breaking cycles of poverty and dependence, especially among girls in deprived communities.
She urged them to remain focused on their studies despite the challenges they may face, adding that with determination and discipline, they could attain greater heights and contribute meaningfully to national development.
“Your books are your best friends now. Take your studies seriously, because education will open doors for you that nothing else can. Besides, when you are educated, your life changes, and you become an inspiration and support to others. You become a solution, not a burden, to society,” she advised.
Commendation
Dr Zotorvie commended CAMFED Ghana for its continuous efforts in promoting girls’ education through the Learner Guide Programme, describing it as a “transformative initiative” that is shaping the attitudes and aspirations of young learners.
She also lauded the collaboration between CAMFED and the NSA, noting that such partnerships help build responsible, confident, and forward-looking youth.
The Director added that the learners are the future leaders of this nation and that they should have self-confidence and aspire to greatness.
“Believe in yourselves, study hard, and remember that education is the greatest gift you can give to yourself and to Ghana. I want to see you all occupy top positions in every chosen field of your endeavours,” she encouraged.
