Ghana will be sweeter like honey if a female becomes president – NDC Women in Amasaman endorse Mahama’s vision

A group of enthusiastic women from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Amasaman have thrown their weight behind President John Dramani Mahama’s recent remarks predicting that Ghana will one day have a female president.

According to the women, not only is such a future possible, it is necessary for the country’s transformation.

Speaking at a local women’s forum organized to mobilize grassroots support for the NDC ahead of the 2026 general elections, the women echoed Mahama’s belief that Ghana is ready to embrace female leadership at the highest level.

They declared, “Ghana will be sweeter like honey if a woman becomes president,” citing the unique qualities women bring to leadership, compassion, discipline, resilience, and a strong sense of community.

The group praised Mahama for championing gender inclusion and empowering women in politics throughout his career. They noted his administration’s past efforts to appoint women to key ministerial and leadership roles, which they said laid the foundation for future female political empowerment.

The NDC women urged political parties to actively support and promote competent female candidates at all levels and called on Ghanaians to embrace the idea of a female president not as symbolic, but as a practical step toward national development.
