Controversial Ghanaian figure Dr. UN, born Kwame Fordjour, has admitted that the infamous “fake awards” scheme he organized years ago has had lasting consequences on his personal life.
In an interview with Mr. Bonez on Kessben TV, Dr. UN revealed that the scandal not only tarnished his public image but also led to the collapse of two of his marriages.
“The awards I organized have collapsed two of my marriages and have been causing issues in any move I want to make,” he confessed.
Dr. UN gained notoriety after organizing an awards event in 2020 under the guise of working with the United Nations and Kofi Annan Foundation.
The event saw several high-profile Ghanaian personalities, including celebrities, politicians, and public figures, unknowingly receiving bogus awards. The fallout was swift and intense, sparking public ridicule and heavy media scrutiny.
Now, years later, Dr. UN admits the personal cost has been heavier than most know. Beyond the memes and mockery, he says the controversy damaged his relationships, trust, and credibility, making it difficult for him to start over in both business and private life.
Despite the setbacks, Dr. UN insists he still believes in his “vision of honouring people” but admits he would have done things differently if given the chance.
