President Mahama Returns to Ghana Following Global Leaders’ Summit in Beijing, China

President John Dramani Mahama arrived in Ghana today, Thursday, October 16, 2025, following his participation in the Global Leaders’ Summit held in Beijing, China. The President was welcomed at Kotoka International Airport by Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyeman and other senior government officials.
The summit, which brought together world leaders and prominent political figures from around the globe, centered on championing women’s empowerment while providing a platform for strengthening international partnerships. President Mahama and his delegation utilized the opportunity to focus on enhancing Sino-Ghanaian relations and exploring new investment opportunities.
During his visit, President Mahama held crucial discussions with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier of the State Council Li Qiang, addressing areas of mutual cooperation and shared interests between the two nations.
A key highlight of the visit was the Presidential Investment Forum hosted by President Mahama, designed to bring together Ghanaian businesses, their Chinese counterparts, and potential investors to explore opportunities in Ghana’s growing economy.
The President and his delegation also visited Fujian Province, where they met with Chinese business leaders who already have a presence in Ghana, reinforcing existing partnerships and exploring avenues for expansion.
