Judge Advises Akosuah Serwaa Fosuh, Odo Broni To Settle Dispute Before Next Hearing

Her Ladyship Justice Dorinda Smith Arthur, the presiding judge in the ongoing legal dispute between Akosua Serwaa Fosuh (plaintiff) and Abusuapanin Kofi Owusu, Priscilla Ofori, aka Odo Broni (defendants), has advised the parties to attempt an out-of-court settlement before the next court hearing.

During the court’s proceedings on Thursday, October 16, 2025, lawyers for the defendants indicated they had filed an objection to the applicant’s capacity to bring the case.

The presiding judge, Her Ladyship Justice Dorinda Smith Arthur, however, declined to hear the objection, noting that it was not part of the day’s business, and instead urged the parties to settle out of court.

She further directed that responses to all filings be submitted within 14 days and emphasized that if the case proceeds, it would be treated with urgency.

The court also clarified that there is no injunction stopping the funeral arrangements of the late Ghanaian highlife legend, Daddy Lumba.

On October 2, 2025, Akosuah Serwaa Fosu filed a civil lawsuit at the Kumasi High Court against Abusuapanin Kofi Owusu, Priscilla Ofori, also known as Odo Broni, and Transitions Funeral Home.

She is seeking, among other reliefs, a declaration that she is the only surviving spouse of the late Charles Kwadwo Fosu.

The court’s next sitting on October 28, 2025, is expected to determine whether the matter will proceed or be settled amicably outside court.
