There are calls for me to return to Radio – Reggae musician, African Child reveals

Reggae and dancehall musician African Child has hinted at a possible return to radio, following growing calls from fans and industry insiders.
Speaking in a recent interview on Kessben TV, the artist acknowledged the public interest in seeing him back on the airwaves but expressed concern over balancing radio with his demanding music career.
“There are calls for me to return to radio,” African Child admitted during the interview. “But it will be difficult to return and do both radio and music because all of the two requires much more learning.”
African Child, who gained recognition not just for his soulful reggae sounds like Kumoo but also for his engaging presence as a radio host in the past, explained that both fields demand constant evolution and dedication.
He emphasized that while radio was once a major part of his journey, his current focus on music leaves little room to fully commit to both professions without compromising quality.
Radio is not just sitting behind the mic and talking. You have to research, prepare, stay current, and deliver. The same goes for music, it’s a whole learning process, and I take it seriously.”
Despite the challenges, African Child didn’t completely rule out the idea, suggesting that with the right support and structure, he might find a way to bridge the two passions.
