Unprecedented Deal: DSTV Offers 33-50% More Value to Ghanaian Subscribers, Says Minister Sam George

Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation, Samuel Nartey George, has hailed MultiChoice Africa’s decision to grant Ghanaian DStv subscribers between 33% and 50% more value as “unprecedented.”
The Minister dismissed claims that similar offers had been rolled out in the past, insisting this new arrangement is tailored specifically for Ghana.
In an interview on Accra-based Channel One TV, Sam George clarified that past DStv promotions were restricted to active subscribers who renewed their packages before expiry, and those benefits lasted for only a month.
“I have heard people say that DStv has done this before; that is not correct. That is why the presser I did, I said this is unprecedented in DStv’s own marketing modules.”
“What DStv has normally done is that you must be an active subscriber, you must renew before the expiration of your current subscription, and you enjoy it for only one month. What we have done with them is a bouquet agonistic,” he added.
He also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protecting consumers by ensuring fairness in pay-TV pricing and service delivery.
