Mankranso gets modern football field with natural grass through Ahafo Ano South West DCE, Hon Abubakar Sedik

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano South West, Alhaji Abubakar Sedik, has successfully overseen the completion of a modern football field with natural grass in Mankranso, the district capital.

The field, which had been abandoned for several years, was completed within four months of the DCE’s appointment, fulfilling a longstanding demand by residents, especially the youth and sports enthusiasts.

“When I assumed office, I made it a point to tackle the projects that matter most to the people. The football field in Mankranso had been left incomplete for too long. I am proud that in a short time, we’ve been able to give the community a sports facility they deserve,” said Abubakar Sedik.

The Mankranso football park, initially started under previous administrations, was left in a deplorable state, overgrown with weeds, uneven terrain, and no usable pitch for organized games. The neglect deprived the town of any serious sporting activity and limited opportunities for young talents to develop their skills.

Under the leadership of DCE Sedik, the district assembly prioritized the project, secured funding, and supervised its rapid completion. The new facility features:

Already, local teams and schools are lining up to use the facility for training, tournaments, and inter-school competitions. Community leaders believe the pitch will serve as a talent hub, potentially producing future stars in Ghanaian football.
