Thank you Asanteman – Sarkodie expresses appreciation to Kumasi after 2025 Rapperholic

Speaking on the Kessben TV show, Sarkodie expressed his utmost appreciation following the rapperholic event at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. He expressed feeling nervous, sad, and guilty because his fans were waiting in the rain for the show to begin. He described being restless, as the journey to the stadium took two hours, and upon arrival, they encountered technical issues with a power plant for about an hour.

Sarkodie revealed that they prayed backstage for the event to conclude successfully and gave special thanks to Kofi Kinata for being the one to initiate the energy at the event. He also shared a thought that the rain may have happened for a reason, as it potentially prevented an unknown issue. Above all, he was deeply moved by the people of Kumasi, who demonstrated a level of dedication and support he had never seen before. He sincerely thanked them for not giving up despite the weather and for staying until the very end. He also extended his gratitude to the media houses, bloggers, and content creators who publicized the event.

Discussing his musical inspirations, Sarkodie stated that every person is inspired by others, whether directly or indirectly, which can impact their chosen path or career. He recalled rapping Obrafour’s verses for a long time and even being called “Obrafour” back in school. While he initially preferred foreign rap, his perspective changed when he discovered that Ghanaians could also create their own compelling rap music. His first rap was a version of the “Yaanom” rap, for which he changed the words to make it his own.

Speaking on the music industry, Sarkodie noted that significant opportunities exist wherever an economy is lucrative. He described music as one of the few businesses that requires maximum investment from the start, but if it succeeds, it sets you up well. He now lives off his music, which has enabled him to enroll his children in one of Ghana’s best schools. He urged the government to provide more support for the lucrative music industry.

Finally, the artist, popularly known as King Sark, shared one of his biggest dreams: to have both Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy perform on the international stage. He is praying for that to happen one day and hopes other Nigerian artists can join them next year. He also confirmed that he has an unreleased song with Shatta Wale, assuring fans they will hear it when the time is right.
