Ghanaian rap icon Sarkodie has revealed that Asantehene, Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II was shocked to know that he doesn’t have a house in Kumasi.
“Ahead of the rapperholic show when I visited him, Otumfuo asked me So you don’t have a house in Kumasi? – Sarkodie revealed on Kessben TV.
According to Sarkodie, the question from the King was not just casual but carried a deeper meaning. It reflected Otumfuo’s desire for successful sons of the Ashanti Region to maintain a physical presence in their homeland.
Sarkodie acknowledged the significance of the moment and shared that Otumfuo’s words made him reflect on his roots and his connection to Kumasi.
He further revealed that the Asantehene had instructed his elders to assist in finding a piece of land for him, encouraging the rapper to establish a permanent residence in the city.
