MTN Ghana Orientates SMEs On Book Keeping, Others In Kumasi

MTN Ghana in partnership with Sanlam Alliance, an insurance company have for two todays, Wednesday and Thursday provided orientation and training for over 120 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi.
The participants were taken through basic book and record keeping models including the keeping of data of details of their operations as SMEs.
Most of the participants were youthful elements in the batik, tie and dye as well as detergents and cosmetics industry.
Grouped according to the businesses they offered, participants at the Kumasi forum also brainstormed with experts on ways to expand their businesses and to ensure they thrived using basic technology available on the MTN network and on the internet.
Senior Sales Manager:
Speaking to the media, Senior Sales Manager-MTN Ghana Northern Business District, Mohammed Abubakar Sidick said the Business SMEs Clinic was aimed at equipping participants with skills needed for them to respond to the current business challenges.
He noted that the public have become demanding of excellent customer service especially from where they trade or shop from.
This, he stated requires that SMEs become abreast of models that would facilitate their interests in satisfying their customers.
“We at MTN are very much aware of the demands customers put on their service providers especially SMEs and therefore together with Sanlam Alliance we decided to re-orient the mentality and capacity of these 120 participants including the introduction of basic tools of knowledge to them so that they could live up to the expectations of their customers”, Mr Sidic posited.

Dr Mrs Victoria Opoku-Ware, an SME owner and lecturer at KNUST commended MTN Ghana 🇬🇭 and Sanlam Alliance for the training programme.
She said participants have had eye opening experiences including the knowledge of conducting background checks on persons they employ as helping hands or employees.
Mr Sebastian Appiah, Business Executive at Jackson University College, said he was impressed with the simplicity of keeping books on businesses they operated.
This training, he stated would guide participants in documenting their works and ensuring a daily account of sales and production.
