NPP’s Council of Elders Forms Ad Hoc Committee to Ensure Peaceful Presidential Primaries

The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) National Council of Elders has constituted an Ad Hoc Committee to oversee the campaign conduct of aspiring presidential candidates, their teams, and followers ahead of the party’s presidential primaries scheduled for January 31, 2026. This move aims to safeguard the integrity of the campaign process and ensure a peaceful, respectful, and dignified primary process.
Committee’s Responsibilities
The Ad Hoc Committee has been tasked with:
1. *Monitoring Campaign Conduct*: Keeping a close eye on the comments, actions, and conduct of all aspirants and their followers during the campaign period.
2. *Receiving and Reviewing Petitions*: Receiving and reviewing petitions from aspirants concerning utterances, hate speech, insults, and abusive language directed at them.
3. *Recommending Sanctions*: Recommending appropriate measures and sanctions, including initiating disciplinary action where necessary, to preserve the dignity, unity, and image of the party.
