A head-on collision between a truck and passenger bus near Sanso Junction claims one life and leaves multiple people hospitalized

A tragic road accident on the Obuasi-Dunkwa highway has resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries after a head-on collision between two vehicles on Tuesday evening.
According to Adomtvonline, the fatal crash occurred near Sanso Junction when a Kia truck with registration number AS 1434-17, driven by 31-year-old Yahaya Abdul Samed, veered into the opposite lane and collided with an oncoming Mercedes Benz Sprinter bus.
The passenger bus, bearing registration AS 3789-21 and operated by 32-year-old Ibrahim Yusif, was traveling from Obuasi to Dunkwa with 23 passengers on board at the time of the collision.
The impact of the crash proved fatal for 62-year-old Mary Boatemaa, a passenger aboard the Sprinter bus, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body has been transported to the Obuasi Government Hospital mortuary.
Several other passengers sustained various degrees of injuries in the collision and were immediately rushed to nearby medical facilities for treatment. The injured victims are currently receiving care at both the Obuasi Government Hospital and the AGA Health Foundation Hospital.
Local police have launched a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances that led to the fatal accident. Authorities are working to determine what caused the Kia truck to cross into the oncoming traffic lane, resulting in the devastating head-on collision.
