We have names of NDC party bigwigs trying to cut deals with corrupt officials of previous gov’t – Fifi Kwetey

According to NDC General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the party has learned of attempts by party members to strike deals with individuals on the government’s list of targets for prosecution.

Mr. Kwetey stated that the government will not give in to such tactics, although he did not identify the individuals in his speech at the 5th Annual General Conference of NDC lawyers.

“Many among us despite the fact that pleas and pressure are coming that punishment has to be meted and this must be done properly some among us are busy trying to cut deals with people who are supposed to be prosecuted.

He indicated, “some are becoming conduit through whom pressure is being brought to bear on people who are supposed to what is right. I may not mention names but a time will come when we may have to.” He said.

This follows the party’s determination to pursue those found guilty and reclaim corruption proceeds through Operation reclaim All Loots.

A few former government officials are already under investigation for potential corruption.

The General Secretary asserted that the electorate’s desire to see the right things done was crucial to the party’s electoral success.

Mr. Kwetey thinks that the dishonesty of those in positions of authority has prevented the nation from developing.
