Npp Risks Suffering Massive Losses in 2028 Elections if fails to Present Kennedy Agyapong as Candidate- Rev. Alex Acheampong

Rev. Alex Acheampong, Head of Diaspora and Religious Affairs for the Kennedy Agyapong National Campaign, has declared that Ghanaians overwhelmingly prefer Hon. Kennedy Agyapong as the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer for the 2028 general elections.

Speaking at the NPP West London Chapter’s Unity Conference, Rev. Acheampong warned that the party risks suffering massive losses in 2028 if it fails to present Kennedy Agyapong as its presidential candidate.

Grassroots Support Highlighted:

“The people in Ghana – drivers, traders, and others – are showing tremendous interest in Kennedy Agyapong becoming the next NPP candidate,” Rev. Acheampong told conference attendees. “Ghanaians will have the appetite to vote massively for the NPP in 2028 if Kennedy Agyapong leads the party.”

The diaspora representative emphasized that various segments of Ghanaian society have expressed strong support for Agyapong’s potential candidacy, suggesting broad-based appeal across different professional groups.

Call for Direct Appointment:

In a bold move, Rev. Acheampong urged NPP party executives to bypass traditional selection processes and directly appoint Kennedy Agyapong as the party’s leader. He argued that such action would better reflect the will of the Ghanaian people.

“Kennedy Agyapong has no competitor in the NPP – he is the preferred candidate for Ghanaians,” Acheampong declared, expressing confidence in Agyapong’s electoral prospects.

Looking Ahead to 2028:

The statements at the West London conference reflect growing discussions within NPP circles about leadership succession and electoral strategy for the 2028 presidential race. The diaspora’s vocal support for Kennedy Agyapong adds an international dimension to domestic political conversations.

As the NPP prepares for the next electoral cycle, party leadership will need to consider input from both domestic and international party chapters in determining their path forward.

The conference underscores the active role of Ghana’s diaspora community in shaping political discourse and their continued engagement with homeland politics.
