Ghana Reopens Embassy in Tehran, Iran

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Ghana has announced the reopening of the Embassy of Ghana in Tehran, Iran, effective Tuesday, September 16, 2025. The Ministry assured the public that it will continue to monitor the situation closely to ensure the safety of the staff and the Ghanaian community in Iran.
The reopening of the Embassy is expected to enhance diplomatic relations between Ghana and Iran, as well as facilitate the provision of consular services to Ghanaians in Iran. The Ministry has pledged to provide periodic updates on the security situation and to take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of Ghanaians in Iran.
Reopening a Step towards Strengthening Bilateral Relations
The decision to reopen the Embassy is a significant step towards strengthening bilateral relations between Ghana and Iran. It is expected that the Embassy’s reopening will facilitate trade, investment, and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
