Chief Justice Torkorno’ sacking: The President is exercising the powers conferred on him by the Constitution – Lawyer Ramond Bidemah

Lawyer Ramond Bidemah, law lecturer, at KAAF University, has given his opinion on the dismissal of the chief Justice by the President Of Ghana.
Lawyer Ramond Bidemah speaking on Kessben FM Accra shared that, Chief Justice was disqualified on the grounds of misbehavior.
He stated that, a person removed as Chief Justice may not qualify to become a justice of a superior court”
He stated that, the laws of each country supersede any other policy.” reiterating that , any other policy we have should be in consonance with the Constitution, which is the Supreme Law of the Country”
Lawyer Bidemah stressed on the fact that, framers of the constitution has given less attention to some of the words that needs judicial interpretation.
He continued that, this has left the constitution vague on the provisions of Article 146, clause 1 very vague.”
Lawyer Bidemah noted that, we do not know the amount of misconduct for which a chief Justice of the superior court can be removed.
He said that, these speculations have led to the removal of the chief justice”
Lawyer Ramond emphasized that “the President was trying to exercise the powers conferred on him by the Constitution.”
