Kotoko is the joy after church, Let’s run it properly – Prophet Atta Gyebi

Prophet Atta Gyebi, leader of the House of Jacob Chapel, expressed his enduring support for Kumasi Asante Kotoko, while also calling for major changes in how the club is run.

Speaking on Kessben Drive with Fante Quoo, The man of God stated, “I support Kotoko and Barcelona. I’m a Kotoko fan. I used to be a Circle member but stepped aside for a while over how things went down some years ago.”

The Prophet, known for his straightforward opinions on both religious and social issues, did not hold back in addressing the internal challenges facing Asante Kotoko, one of Ghana’s most storied football clubs.

“There are so many hands around the club. The club should be handed to a team of people to run.”

Kotoko, despite its legacy and massive support base, has often been in the headlines for boardroom conflicts and inconsistency on the pitch.

Prophet Gyebi’s passionate appeal was also deeply emotional, reflecting how much the club means to its followers. “It’s the club that brings us joy after church service.”

By suggesting that Kotoko be run by a competent and dedicated team rather than being pulled in different directions, Gyebi joins many voices pushing for reform. The club, which has the infrastructure and support base to become a continental powerhouse, often falls short due to instability at the top.
