Over GHC 3.5 million donated for the children of the August 6 Helicopter disaster victims

According to the Presidency, GHC 3,576,600 and US$20,000 have been donated thus far to the Children Support Fund, which was established to support the welfare of the children of the victims of the helicopter disaster on August 6, 2025.

In response to the nationwide plea to assist impacted families, a diverse range of corporate organizations and individuals contributed between August 19 and August 28, 2025.

After the unfortunate event, the Fund was created to make sure the children who were left behind received the right kind of care, education, and welfare assistance.

The Presidency reiterated its dedication to openness in a public statement released on Friday, August 29, stating that a complete list of contributors will still be released once a week.

The public and organizations that wish to donate have also been urged to use the approved Stanbic Bank Ghana accounts, which offer both dollar and Ghana cedi alternatives.

The update’s signer, Dr. Valerie Sawyerr, Senior Presidential Advisor on Governmental Affairs and Fund Coordinator, thanked everyone who has given thus far and said the act is evidence of Ghana’s solidarity and kindness in times of need.
