New Patriotic Party flagbearer hopeful and former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has called for unity among fellow aspirants in the presidential primaries, urging them to focus on the real political opponent, the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), instead of attacking one another.

Speaking after filing his nomination in Accra on Thursday, August 28, the former Vice President questioned the strategic value of internal rivalry, suggesting that Ghana and the NPP would benefit more if party aspirants concentrated on demonstrating leadership by constructively holding the current government to account and articulating a clear vision for the country.
Dr. Bawumia stressed that the party should not waste energy fighting itself. “Our true opponent is not within. Our true opponent is out there. We need unity to win,” he stated.
The former Vice President further outlined his vision, emphasising a focus on economic transformation. “My vision is to expand the Ghanaian economy through rich ideas that provide incentives and practical measures,” he said.
