Greatness comes from serving, serve your parents, masters, bosses, etc, well if you want to go far – Rev. Vincent Kankam

Rev. Vincent Kankam has stressed about the need for people to serve well on his Food For Thought Program on Kessben FM

He highlighted the often-overlooked principle that true promotion in life begins with faithful service particularly to those in authority.

Drawing powerful lessons from the life of the biblical Samuel, Rev. Kankam challenged listeners to reflect on their attitude toward serving masters, mentors, and those placed over them.

At the heart of Rev. Kankam’s message was the story of Samuel, one of the most revered prophets in the Bible. “Before Samuel ever became a prophet, he was first a servant in the house of God under Eli the priest,” Rev. Kankam noted. “He didn’t start with a title. He started with a towel.”

Rev. Kankam reminded listeners that in life, we often find ourselves under authority, be it in a workplace, a church, a home, or a learning environment. “Your ability to serve your master well is a test,” he said. “You cannot be trusted with authority if you’ve never learned how to honour authority.”

He explained that God often places us under imperfect leaders, just like Eli, not to frustrate us, but to shape us. “Eli wasn’t perfect. He had his flaws. But Samuel didn’t despise him. He served him. And that was what God was looking for,  humility and faithfulness.”

Rev. Kankam pointed out that some people disqualify themselves from future greatness because they resist the discipline of service.
