Learn to celebrate yourself and others while alive, Don’t wait for people to die before you post them on WhatsApp status – Rev Vincent Kankam   (Sofo Kankam)

Rev. Vincent Kankam has called on the public to adopt a culture of appreciation and celebration, not after death, but while people are still alive to feel it.

Speaking on his widely followed program, Food For Thought on Kessben FM, the respected pastor and motivational speaker touched on what has become a common social phenomenon: people showing grand displays of love, admiration, and honor for the dead, often through social media posts, tributes, and WhatsApp statuses, yet rarely expressing the same affection when those individuals were alive.

Celebrate yourself and others, don’t wait for people to die before you post them on your WhatsApp status,” Rev. Kankam said with conviction.

Rev. Kankam emphasized that celebration and appreciation are not just for birthdays or milestones. They can be simple acts of love and kindness: a message of encouragement, a shoutout on social media, a phone call to say “thank you,” or even acknowledging someone’s efforts in public.

He stressed that this isn’t about flattery or false praise,  but about genuine gratitude and honoring people for the roles they play in our lives.
