Five months after the Accra High Court ordered Hearts of Oak to pay GHS 108,637 to former Commercial Affairs Manager Charles Kwarteng, the club’s refusal to comply with the ruling has sparked a new development.
According to Kessben Sports, Mr. Charles Kwarteng has taken a significant step by writing to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the Club Licensing Board to prevent Hearts of Oak’s license to participate in the upcoming season.
The letter serves as a formal notice to the governing bodies that Kwarteng’s compensation remains unpaid, and the club’s non-compliance with the court ruling may have severe consequences for their participation in the league.
Hearts of Oak’s failure to settle the debt has raised concerns about the club’s financial management and potential repercussions on their league participation.
However, Kessben Sports’ Frederick Acheampong, who also doubles as GFA Executive Committee member, advises Mr. Kwarteng to refer the case back to court to obtain a writ, which can be used as evidence to present to the GFA and the licensing board.
The GFA and Club Licensing Board’s response to Kwarteng’s letter will be crucial in determining the club’s fate for the upcoming season.
