The accompanying “Sustain Initiative” promises to be equally impactful, designed to “scale up sovereign transitions and institutional networks.” The initiative aims to align national budgets with health priorities and mobilize critical capital.
“We extend an open invitation to all nations represented here to join us in building an African health investment ecosystem that is driven by purpose and is powered by equity and anchored in our sovereignty,” President emphasized.

Notably, the initiative champions a new approach to multilateralism, “grounded in co-creation, not extraction, and based on mutual respect, not charity.”
Highlighted the importance of partnerships in achieving the goals of the summit. The partnerships reflect a new form of multilateralism grounded in co-creation, not extraction.
He indicated that, the summit is more than a policy forum. It is a moral call, a strategic milestone, and a continent-wide awakening.
“I wish to thank all those who have stood with us—Afro Champions, the African Union, the Rockefeller Foundation, Georgetown University, the Obasanjo Foundation. Your partnership reflects the new multilateralism the world needs—grounded in co-creation, not extraction, and based on mutual respect, not charity.” President Mahama noted.
