Single women nearing 30 years & 30-plus who are desperate for marriage should be careful about scammers on WhatsApp & Facebook – Rev Vincent Kankam (Sofo Kankam)

Rev. Vincent Kankam issued a caution to women, especially those in their late twenties and thirties, urging them to be vigilant in their search for a life partner, particularly when approached by men online.
Speaking on Kessben FM’s Food for Thought on Monday, Sofo Kankam addressed a growing trend of scammers who prey on single women’s desire for marriage, often initiating conversations through social media and messaging platforms like WhatsApp.
Sofo Kankam said many of these men are not genuinely interested in marriage. They’re exploiting the vulnerability and desperation of women who feel pressured by age or societal expectations by exploiting them financially.
He acknowledged the societal pressures that many women face as they approach their thirties, pressures from family, friends, and culture, that can lead them into making hasty or emotionally-driven decisions. These conditions, he said, make them easy targets for scammers who present themselves as serious suitors but are actually after money or personal gain.
He also warned against sending money, personal information, or compromising images to individuals they have not met or verified, as many of these guys are scammers.
