After premiering Ibrahim Traore, the next movie I’m shooting is titled The 2nd coming of John Mahama – Lil Win

Ghanaian actor, comedian, and filmmaker Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win, has revealed the title of his next cinematic project “The Second Coming of John Mahama”

The announcement came during a recent interview on Kessben FM’s Krenkren to Krankran hosted by DJ KA

Lil Win explained that his new direction in filmmaking is driven by a desire to honor influential African figures while they are still alive, rather than posthumously. According to him, this is a way of appreciating their impact and encouraging unity and patriotism through cinema.

“After premiering Ibrahim Traore, the next movie I’m shooting is titled ‘The 2nd Coming of John Mahama,’” he told listeners. “I’ve realized that as filmmakers, we have the power to celebrate our heroes while they are with us, not when they are gone.”

The film, “The 2nd Coming of John Mahama,” is expected to dramatize the political journey of Ghana’s former president John Dramani Mahama, possibly imagining a symbolic or literal return to power. While details about the script are still under wraps, the title alone has sparked curiosity and debate, especially as Ghana heads into another election season.

Lil Win’s latest works mark a noticeable shift from his comedic roots to a more serious and culturally significant form of storytelling. His movie Ibrahim Traore has garnered praise for highlighting the leadership of Burkina Faso’s young interim president, who has gained a following for his pan-Africanist ideals.

The movie is set to premiered in Kumasi at the SG Mall on 2nd August 2025.
