UPSA Launches Initiative to Empower 1000 Youth in Entrepreneurship

The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), has launched a groundbreaking initiative aimed at empowering 1000 young people with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in entrepreneurship. The UPSA-1000 project, which was unveiled at a ceremony attended by the Minister of Youth Empowerment, Lawyer Opare Addo, Ag. Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies, Dr. Ernest Abraham and Dr Mrs Juliana Akushika Andoh
Lecturer and Project Lead of UPSA -1000 is designed to provide both theoretical and practical training in entrepreneurship.
Equipping Youth for Success
The project’s theme, “UPSA Entrepreneurship Training Project: Empowering 1000 Youth for Business Success,” reflects the university’s commitment to equipping young people with the tools they need to succeed in business. According to the faculty, the program is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of entrepreneurship, including the risks involved, the challenges, and how to overcome them.
“We want to give back to society, and one way of giving back is to train 1000 people in entrepreneurship, because we believe that that is the door to success,” a faculty member explained. “Education is the door, and entrepreneurship is a key. We want to give both the theory and practical aspects of entrepreneurship, just so that we are able to equip the youth so that they can go ahead and work towards success and help reduce unemployment in Ghana.”
A Five-Day Program
The UPSA-1000 project is a five-day program scheduled to take place in September. The program will provide participants with the opportunity to learn from experienced entrepreneurs and industry experts, and to gain hands-on experience in entrepreneurship.

The Minister of Youth Empowerment, lauded the initiative, noting that the youth are in the majority of Ghana’s population. He emphasized the importance of empowering young people with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in entrepreneurship.
