If someone tells you something about another person, don’t be quick to judge or believe it blindly – Sofo Kankam cautions against prejudiced mindset

Rev. Vincent Kankam has urged Ghanaians to practice patience before forming opinions about others.

His heartfelt sermon centered on the dangers of hasty judgment and the importance of discernment in a society often driven by gossip, hearsay, and assumptions.

Rev. Kankam, known for his deep spiritual insights and practical teachings, speaking on Wednesday edition of the Food For Thought Program on Kessben FM, passionately talked about how easily people are influenced by what they hear about others often without verifying the facts or hearing both sides of the story.

“When someone tells you something about another person, don’t be quick to judge or believe it blindly,” he said. “Take your time. Ask questions. Be patient. We destroy relationships and reputations because we don’t take the time to understand.”

Sofo Kankam emphasized that prejudice,  whether based on past experiences, stereotypes, or emotional bias, is a silent but deadly threat to unity, love, and peace in communities. He encouraged listeners to look inward and examine the unconscious beliefs that shape their reactions to others.

“Let us cultivate patience, seek truth, and treat others with the fairness we ourselves desire,” he urged.
