We’ll deal with political vigilantism – Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, Interior Minister

In order to deal with recalcitrants, the Ministry of the Interior has warned citizens against political vigilantism and stated that it will not hesitate to apply the Vigilantism and Related Offences Act, 2019 (Act 999).
According to Sector Minister Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, no organization, even the ruling party, will be permitted to carry out violent crimes in the name of vigilantism.
He warned during yesterday’s inaugural government accountability series in Accra, when he listed the ministry’s accomplishments from January to June 2025.
According to the minister, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) has received footage of recent vigilante-related occurrences, including those that occurred at Ablekuma North last Friday, and will act promptly on them.
“We have instructed the police to bring the perpetrators to book. No individual act or group, whether affiliated to our party or not, will be condoned in undermining public order,” he said.
