A coffin is more expensive than chartering a taxi, so take good care of yourself – MC Opare

MC Opare of Kessben FM has stated that a coffin is more expensive than chartering a taxi, so people have to take good care of themselves.
MC Opare, known for his energetic voice and relatable commentaries on life, culture, and society, made them on Kessben FM’s Krenkren to Krankran.
The message came during a discussion on lifestyle choices and how often people prioritize short-term convenience over long-term well-being.
“Sometimes you’ll see someone refusing to take a taxi because they want to save a few cedis,” he said. “They’ll walk long distances under the scorching sun or in the rain, or pile up on overloaded vehicles.
But ask yourself, if you collapse or fall ill, the cost of a coffin is far more than the few cedis you were trying to save. A coffin is expensive. So take good care of yourself!”
In Ghana, as in many parts of the world, funeral expenses are significant, often far more expensive than people anticipate. Coffins, depending on design, materials, and cultural importance, can cost thousands of cedis.
So the next time you hesitate to spend a little on something that benefits your well-being, remember MC Opare’s wise words, “A coffin is more expensive than chartering a taxi.”
