They slashed his neck and burned him with a carpet – Brother-in-law of late Immigration officer/Kotoko fan narrates it all

Stephen King Amoah, a 38‑year‑old officer with the Ghana Immigration Service and staunch Kotoko supporter, was reported missing on July 3, 2025, after heading to a meeting at Ashongman Estates to collect a GHS 200,000 debt from a friend

His family last heard from him through a text saying he’d returned home safely, a message later deemed suspicious in tone.

On July 9, 2025, police discovered his partially burned and stabbed body near Abuom Junction, Kwabenya.

His brother-in-law, Dominic, speaking on Kessben Maakye with KOD, said, the body was wrapped in a woolen carpet, the killers having set it alight. Despite the burning, facial features were still recognizable, allowing relatives to confirm his identity.

He explained that the carpet was used to conceal the body before being set on fire.

Dominic disclosed that the face wasn’t completely destroyed by the fire, which is what allowed for identification.

He said Stephen’s body, concealed in a carpet, set ablaze. Yet, the face remained intact enough for recognition, a grim fact that allowed the family to confirm the identity amidst tragedy.
